The Fault in our stars-John Green

Although I watched the movie first, I absolutely loved the book more. It follows the story of a 16 year old girl named Hazel-Grace;who has cancer. Her parents force her to go to a support group class where she meets the ever so charming Augustus Waters(an amputee and ex basketball player).

The two soon fall in love and go on an embarking journey together. From agreeing to read each others favourite novels, to travelling to Amsterdam to meet Hazel’s favourite author,  Peter Van Houten. They soon realise that he is not what they had expected and storm out of his place. They visit many wonderful places whilst in Amsterdam(Anne Frank house and a lovely restaurant). Unfortunately, things end not so wonderful, as Augustus gets sick and there is not much they can do for him. As him and Hazel live out his last days, you truly see what love is and how that kind of love is a once in a lifetime kind of love.

As always, the book is different from the movie in certain parts, but all-in-all, a great read. Once I started, I couldn’t put it down. It was an easy read and the story-line was not hard to follow. I laughed, I cried and I would definitely read it again.

What are your thoughts on the book? Have you read it?if not, will you?
