The Notebook: The Notebook follows the story of an old man named Noah, who has loved his wife Allie since they were 17. The movie starts with them In the “present” as they are in an old age hospital for the ill. Ally unfortunately has dementia and Noah reads them their love story everyday in order for her to remember him and their love for one another.
The Story starts where Noah first notices Allie at a carnival in town where Noah asks her out. Before you can even blink, Noah and Ally fall in love and spend every waking moment together for that summer. However, her parents want her to marry into money and force her to leave earlier than expected. Noah writes to her everyday for a year, but he gets no response because Allie’s mother hid the letters away from her.
Noah decides to leave for the army and when he comes back, he decides to build Allie’s dream house(Hoping she will come back to him). Ally however meets another man(Named Lon) during her working and studying and they get engaged. (I never liked this guy-he was just too much for me).
Ally eventually sees the house advertised in the paper and decides she needs to go and see the house as well as see Noah. They instantly have a connection again and they have an affair. At the end, Ally must decide who she wants to be with for the rest of her life. (The house lands up being the hospital, how sweet?!)
It is quite a sad movie as Ally finally remembers her and Noah and their children etc, only to forget in 5 minutes and you see Noah heartbroken and in tears. This movie truly makes you appreciate all the little things in life and is proof that love conquers all .
Titanic: When it comes to this movie, my heart melts. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I`m sure everyone has watched this movie at least once (Well, I hope)…It is such an amazing love story, with some drama (Who doesn’t love drama)..and not to mention the tears-for us girls, haha 🙂 Good thing they invented tissues 😉
It follows the story an old lady named Rose who re-lives the tragic night on the Titanic. Feeling pressured by her mother and forced into a world she doesn’t fit, Rose almost jumps off the ship, when a man by the name of Jack Dawson saves her. It then follows their love story and how they fight to stay together right up until the very end, when Jack sacrifices his life to save hers.
The only thing I did not enjoy about this movie is that it had an alternative ending of Rose with the “Heart of the Ocean”. For me, this was unnecessary.
So if you haven’t watched it (For whatever reason), do yourself a favour and rent it out. And if you’re like me who can watch this movie time and time again, then grab some ice-cream, tissues and enjoy the ride!
The nightmare before Christmas: So who remembers Jack and Sally? If not, then let me tell you a little bit about this magic Movie by Tim Burton.
It Follows the king of Halloween, Jack Skellington and how one night he stumbles upon Christmas and decides that he wants to steal Christmas for himself. From kidnapping Mr. Santa Claus, to creating presents and costumes. Jack must now fix Christmas before its too late for the town and For him.
The music to the movie is extremely catchy, even as an adult you sing along (Provided you know the words like I do-haha). There is also a bit of love/romance between a lady named Sally who was made from a scientist and her love for Jack(He is a bit too blind to realise it right until the very end) .
This movie is for everyone, not only Children. I personally love this movie, but as always, it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. So sit with your children this Christmas, sing along, laugh and maybe even shed a tear.
