Alice: The Madness Returns

So I have been asked quite a few times to blog about gaming and thought I’d give it a shot.

I have played and completed this game once and absolutely loved every moment of it. If you know Alice in Wonderland, then you should be able to follow this game quite easily. The game was released in 2011 by EA Games and it is truly amazing. I really enjoy action-adventure games like this.

This version of “Alice” though is quite dark and different. Her parents died in a fire and it seems that she is to blame in the beginning. It is up to you to go to Wonderland and find the truth as to what happened to her memories and her parents.  Alice comes across many familiar faces throughout the game, such as the Chester Cat, the mad-rabbit who drinks tea and various weird and wonderful characters.

She also has to face many terrifying creatures and demons of her past, so If you are one of those people who don’t like evil games because they bring evil into your home or anything like that, then this game is definitely not for you (Scaredy-cats, haha).

This game has 8 chapters, which is quite nice as her outfits change, the monsters get more intense and you never know what is behind every corner. The graphics aren’t too bad, but could have been a bit better in certain aspects (You’ll have to play the game to understand what I mean).

The one thing I absolutely love in this world are butterflies, and Alice has a few butterflies up her sleeve (When she jumps, floats, etc – even when she dies, she turns into butterflies), it could not get any better than that. Another thing I enjoy about these types of games is that you can choose your difficulty level which is fantastic as I doubt I’d make it if I was on hard/challenging.

I will give this game a 9/10.
